The Hearing between the KPPU and The Commission VI of the House of Representatives
On Tuesday, June 15, 2010, the Commission for the Supervision of Business Competition (KPPU) held a hearing with the Commission VI of The House of Representatives (Komisi VI DPR) that is in charge of Trade, Industry, Investment, Cooperatives, Small-and Medium- Size Enterprises (SMEs) and State- Owned Enterprises (SOEs), and National Standardization. The meeting agenda was to accomplish the budget allocation according to the function of K-L activity program based on result of discussing both KPPU and Budget agency of The House of Representatives.
The Commission VI meeting was led by Aria Bima from PDIP Fraction (the fraction of a political party named Partai Demokrasi Indonesia Perjuangan). The Commission was represented by it’s Vice Chairman; Dr. A.M. Tri Anggraini, the KPPU’s Commissioner: Tajudin Noer Said, Dedie S. Martadisastra and Benny Pasaribu and Task- Executing Person (plt) for Secretary- General, Head of Public Relation Bureau, Head of Competition Policy Bureau, Daily Task- Executing Person (plh) for the Administration Head, the Commissioner Expert Staff and the KPPU’s Secretariat Staff.
The hearing was held to discuss the KPPU’s budget and some additional budget allocation needed to support performance. Parliament is considering KPPU as competition law enforcement agencies, credit competition recognized by all parties and have a competitive advantage, both at domestic and international level.
Assembly Session fully supports the budget proposed by KPPU. They hope the budget can be optimally utilized to support the task KPPU in realizing a healthy economic climate in Indonesia. In conclusion, the Commission VI meeting gave generous appreciation to The KPPU as an institution that has succeed for the realization of welfare society.
