KPPU has advanced the Telkom IndiHome case from an Investigation to a Hearing. The action made after investigation process by KPPU on its behavior to oblige its consumer to use IndiHome Triple Play Package, which consists of three products like fixed-line phone, cable television, and internet.

KPPU Chairman, Syarkawi Rauf said, during the investigation, at least two issues were evolved. First, the tying-in practice by PT. Telekomunikasi Indonesia, Tbk. through its IndiHome Triple Play, which requires consumer to use the three products simultaneously (fixed-line, cable tv, and internet). Second was abuse of dominant position by PT. Telekomunikasi Indonesia, Tbk whom control fixed-line market. In this case, for subscribers of IndiHome Triple Play who want to stop their subscription (for any reason) is upheld, since the agreement made the subscriber cannot choose between one of the provided services. Thus, when the subscriber want to quit on one of the services, then PT. Telekomunikasi Indonesia, Tbk will stop its access to all services. In other side, with the existence of IndiHome Triple Play brings impact on the decreasing market share of its competitors.

Syarkawi said, KPPU has obtained enough evidence to advance this case to a Hearing.

Through the Hearing, justice and fairness can be made to the consumer and undertakings in the industry”, stated Syarkawi.
