Cambodia Delegation visits KPPU.
KPPU welcomed numbers of senior official from several ministers of Cambodia on Monday, 28th Februari 2017 at KPPU Head Office in Jakarta to exchange views on competition law rezime in Indonesia. The delegates consisted of fifteen representatives from several pertinent ministries in Cambodia, like Ministry of Commerce, Council of Minister, Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Post and Telecommunication, Ministry of Economic and Finance, Ministry of Industry and Handicraft, Ministry of Mine and Energy and National Bank of Cambodia. These ministries considers as the future ministries that will be nominated as Commissioners of the future competition agency of Cambodia.
This meeting, which facilitated by German International Cooperation, discussed about uprising issues in competition law, including legal and institutional framework of Indonesian competition regime, enforcement of competition, inter agency cooperation, and challenges faced by young agency. Many questions rose at discussion, as most of the delegates interested to hear about Indonesian case handling, gathering evidence, data collection, independency, and how to make a case decision. The session also highlighted discussion on competition advisory of KPPU to the government, confidential information, merger procedure in KPPU, and overcoming limited resources.
This meeting is part of KPPU’s engagement to contribute to the development of competition law in the region, specifically in moving toward ASEAN Competition Action Plan 2025.
