ICC’S CHAIRMAN AND VICE CHAIRMAN FOR 2020-2023.
Indonesia Competition Commission (ICC) has appointed Kodrat Wibowo, S.E., Ph.D. and Dr. Guntur Syahputra Saragih, MSM, as new Chairman and Vice Chairman of ICC for the 2020-2023 period through a Board of Commissioner’s Meeting which was held on November 28, 2020. The said pair replaces Kurnia Toha, S.H., LL.M., Ph.D and Ukay Karyadi S.E., ME., who has discharged the duties as from May 3, 2018 to December 15, 2020. Kodrat and Guntur were appointed as of Decision of ICC Number 43/KPPU/Kep.1/XII/2020 regarding the Appointment of Chairman and Vice Chairman of ICC will discharge the new duties effectively as of December 16, 2020 to April 27, 2023.
Kodrat is an expert in microeconomics, statistics and econometrics, finance and public policy, and development planning. He completed his Doctoral Education and earned his Ph.D. in Economics at Oklahoma University in 2003. Kodrat has once held important positions like serving as Head of the Department of Economics, Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB), University of Padjadjaran (UNPAD), Chairman of the Association of Indonesian Bachelors of Economics (ISEI) of Bandung, Coordinator of West Java, Vice Chairman of UNPAD’s Audit Committee of Board of Trustees, Vice Director of Independent Agency for the Study of Public Policy (LPIKP), and Head of the Supervisory Board of PDAM Tirta Wening of Bandung City.
Guntur was the Spokesperson of the Commission and once had a career in the media and education world. He has a concentration in Organizational Industrial, Indonesian Economic Business, Cooperatives, as well as Managerial Economics at the Kusuma Negara’s Master of Management.
In the transfer of function ceremonial conducted after the implementation of the 2020 ICC Award activities, Kodrat underscored that there are still a lot of challenges ahead for ICC, both in terms of staffing and law enforcement rule reform. Current condition has further strengthened the importance of ICC’s efforts in the field of system digitization and e-government use in performing its duties, functions, and authorities.
